The Skrull May Be The Villains In The Avengers Movie

I literally let out a slight nerd squee when I read this on Ain’t It Cool News. Apparently the rumor mill is a-churning that Joss Whedon has written in the Skrull race as the the main threat in the upcoming Avengers movie. This rumor appears to be the result of an Avenger’s teaser trailer currently being shot in which Loki, the main villain in the Thor movie, enlists the Skrull to attack Earth. This set my fanboy heart aflutter and the possibilities of how this would open up the overall Marvel Universe into the galactic realm it deserves is amazing. Here’s to hoping The Watcher is narrating the whole affair. I might just go and cry if it all comes together. (via Ain’t It Cool News)

P.S. I tried to explain the joy of this to my girlfriend and the stares I got back were priceless.

French Guys Fight With Lightsabers

Crazy shit be going on in France. This is further proof that lightsabers make everything better. I will say that this lightsaber duel is infinitely better than any of the newer Star Wars movie battles. I love how the old french guy goes into the cab of his tractor, after he so carelessly lost his first lightsaber, and magically brandishes a new one. All was for naught though as his lightsaber wielding skills were defeated by the power of the dark side.

Some French Asshole Wrecks Havoc on Paris Streets In A Mario Kart

That title may seem a little harsh, but this guy could hurt someone. What the fuck am I saying? This shit is hilarious. My favorite part is when he stops inside a grocery store to replenish his bananas. I always figured you just pick them up out of the sparkly boxes in the road but Mario (Remi Gaillard) proves me wrong. This is the second video in the real life Mario Kart series. Checl out his first below for even more wacky French hijinks. (via Destructoid)

Contra Sweater Is Just This Side Of Gaudy…But I Want It

Kid Falls Onto Subway Tracks While Gaming On His PSP

The title says it all, though, I’d really like to know what game he was playing. (via The Huffington Post)

Clue: The Arrested Development Version

This game doesn’t exist but if the world was a fair and proper place then it would exist so I could buy it. I guess if the world was a fair and proper place the show would still be on the air too. Hell, they can’t even get the fucking movie off the ground so I guess this world isn’t fair and proper. Anyways, how about someone makes this a reality so life isn’t so disappointing. Check out the gallery below for some even better pics. (via Super Punch)

Fallen Lego Stormtrooper

A truly somber moment. Great job Shobrick. (via The Brothers Brick)

LittleBigZelda

I’ve only just started to dabble in the world of LittleBigPlanet 2. The guy who made this appears to have mastered the game though, by recreating the first dungeon from the classic NES game,  The Legend of Zelda. I’m unbelievably impressed by the level of detail this guy has created by using the in-game assets from LittleBigPlanet. Hopefully Nintendo doesn’t try to quash this endeavor and we can get the full game going on. (via Joystiq)

Mezco Lion-O Action Figure Stands At 14″ Tall

Apparently, the toy company Mezco, is releasing this gargantuan beast in July. It’s up for pre-order at Big Bad Toy Store for a cool $34.99. Something tells me this puppy will sell out pretty fast so you may want to jump on this. It has 7 points of articulation and comes with his Sword of Omens and Claw Shield. Here’s the press release:

ThunderCats Ho! Straight from the ThunderCats’ Lair on Third Earth, it’s Lion-O and the legendary mystic Sword of Omens. This mega-scale figure measures over 20 inches tall from the tip of his upraised, extended sword to the soles of his Thunderian boots. Featuring 7 points of articulation this mega figure is superbly detailed, perfectly capturing not only the iconic look of Lion-O as he appeared in the classic television series, but the essence, of Lion-O as he proudly raises the mystic Sword of Omens towards the heavens and roars out “Thundercats, Ho!” He comes complete with his impressive Claw Shield and a removable mystic Sword Of Omens. Lion-O is packaged in a collector friendly window box that allows him to be displayed while remaining Mint In Box.

Mega Man Wily Wars

I’ve been lacking in the post department recently because of my new found obsession of scouring the many varied thrift stores and pawn shops in the greater Los Angeles County. Ah, who the fuck am I kidding? I’m being lazy, but, I also have been busy with said thrifting. In fact the amount of pop culture treasure I’ve uncovered has been staggering. I plan on writing up some of the other wonderful things I’ve scavenged but for now, I thought I’d list this beauty.

I actually came across this in a pawn shop. I usually avoid these places as their gaming selection’s can be sparse and overpriced. Therefore, I was surprised when I discovered this little Xbox gem.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II is a semi-rare game from the Xbox line-up and has a pretty good resale value. Especially when I got it for just $5.

As I was looking through the cases I saw the blue Mega Man box that was surprisingly for the SEGA Mega Drive, which was the European version of the classic SEGA Genesis. I had my trusty iPhone with me, which makes researching stuff on the spot a breeze, but I ran into a hitch when the Wily Wars game didn’t show up on eBay. I wasn’t really able to discern it’s value but I liked that it was a Mega Man game on a SEGA system which at that time was somewhat unusual. The price tag read $7.95 but when they rang me up they only charged me $2. That was even better as I figured I culd at least make my money back.

After getting home, I did some research and discovered that it’s a somewhat rare game that was only released in Europe and Japan and a few other territories and has an amazing resale value. It’s a compilation of the first three Mega Man games with some revamped graphics. I threw it up on eBay so check it out. I’m psyched to see what it ends up selling for. I’ve also got some more pics in the gallery below for you crazy people who like the ultra sultry and sexy close-ups.
