Pete Postlethwaite Passes Away At Age 64

His name may not be the most recognizable, but his face graced the screen in over 90- movies in many varied roles. Probably most remembered for his amazing turn as calm and cool Kobayashi, in the seminal film The Usual Suspects, he had an uncanny acting ability that transcended his somewhat unusual features and made him compelling to watch and sympathetic to his motivations. This was readily apparent in his role as Father Laurence in the modern re-telling of Romeo & Juliet. Most recently, he was in two of the best films of the year, Christopher Nolan’ s Inception, and Ben Affleck’s The Town. In The Town, he looked a little worse foe the wear but it transitioned into a brilliant performance as a small time crime lord who held sway with his commanding Irish brogue and dead pan threats to geld you like horse. He was a young 64 at the age of his passing and his talent will be sorely missed.

David The Gnome Has Passed Away

Tom Bosley, 83, was probably best known for his role as Howard Cunningham, the father of Richie Cunningham on the seminal T.V. series “Happy Days”. I really remember him, though, as the voice of the David from the great cartoon series “David the Gnome”. Either way it’s still sad to see such an iconic member of pop culture pass on. I wish the best to his family and friends and just want to say thanks for the many hours of entertainment as a small child.

To The Late Frank Frazetta

I’ll just post some quick praise to Mr. Frazetta as his works speaks for him. His art inspired the concept of fantasy worlds and hardened muscular heroes saving buxom beautiful women. I recommend an amazing documentary called Frazetta: Painting with Fire that gives great insight into the talented artist. The iconic image of Conan and how he looks only exists because of him. Rest In Peace.
