Critter Gitter Is The Must Have Vehicle For The Zombie Apocalypse

With the upcoming inevitability of the Zombie Apocalypse, one can never be over-prepared. In comes the vehicle of choice for a zombie horde encounter. This customized rig is known as the “Critter Gitter” but I think it should be called “fuck you zombie fuck heads”. The only set back is it will cost you about $350,000 but that seems reasonable enough for a “fuck you zombie fuck heads”. By the way, just a reminder. The Walking Dead starts on AMC in 12 days. Be there or be square. Yeah!(via Uncrate)

Red Dead Redemption Zombies Are Coming To Get You Barbara

Red Dead Redemption is my current contender for game of the year. It was everything I ever asked for in a western game and the story was top notch. Now Rockstar has gone and upped the ante by putting zombies into the game. That’s right. Zombies in a western game. What’s even cooler is that piece of art up there that Rockstar released as a teaser image. A bloodied up nun, wielding a shotgun ready to shoot some undead freaks. Shit, I just get shivers thinking about it. If you like you can click on the image to enlarge it and use it as a desktop or you can go to Rockstar’s downloads site and get a size that would better fit your screen. There’s no word on release date or pricing yet for this downloadable content but I’ll be sure to update you on that. Until then, good luck in keeping the undead hoard at bay. (via Kotaku)

Fan-made Walking Dead Intro Credits Are Amazing

I have expressed my love and oddly enough,  hatred for the shambling undead in many previous posts. I am an avid reader of Robert Kirkman’s Walking Dead comic book and cannot wait until the end of October for AMC’s Walking Dead television show. Well a fan, Dan Kanemoto, has gone and made his own version of the opening credits for the show and I think Frank Darabont should take a good look at it and maybe make it the official credits. It’s inspired and helps to show the roots of the show and showcases some amazing art and editing. So Frank, and AMC. I know you read my blog because who doesn’t? Amiright? Make this happen.

A YouTube Choose Your Own Adventure Zombie Film Is My New Favorite Thing Ever

You need to play through this amazing video adventure now. You don’t really have a choice as I’m commanding you to do this. The production value of this is amazing and whoever saw this through to fruition deserves a slow clap from a group of people standing around him right now at this moment. This is the best bit of marketing I have ever seen and I only wish that I lived in New Zealand because this would be my new favorite pizza joint. It’s most definitely influenced by the sublimely gross Dead Alive movie that was one of Peter Jackson’s early films. That was an over the top zombie comedy and this fits in that niche quite well. I died a couple of times on my first playthrough but the death scenes are really worth it and you get to go back and choose the correct path after you die so no harm, no foul. As a bit of a SPOILER I seriously recommend taking the scooter jump option near the end. (Via Ain’t It Cool News)

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Cast Photo Gets Me Excited

I’m really excited for this show that is being brought to the small screen by Frank Darabont and will join the stellar line up of original shows on AMC such as Mad Men and Breaking Bad. I’m an obsessed reader of the spectacular same-titled comic book series. The beauty of the comic book series is that it’s ongoing. So often, when watching a post apocalyptic movie the ending always sucks because the story of surviving in such a familiar yet alien world is what is so compelling. Robert Kirkman, the creator of The walking Dead comic book, even says as much in his intro to the now 75 issue deep series. He was always compelled to see what’s next in the story of the survivors so he decided to take it into his own hands and tell his own extended story. What he’s accomplished in the past 7 years is an opus of human survival in the worst of situations. The amazing thing is he has stated that he at least has 300 issues of material already planned out. This is a monumental feat and I’m glad to be along for the ride. My only concern is that the show will be unwilling to delve into some of the intensely darker aspects of the comic as these scenes may be “too much” for a normal television audience. I guess we will all find out when the series makes it’s debut this October. In the mean time I stringly recommend you to read Kirkman’s comic as it truly is magnificent and amazingly well written. Now, here’s to hoping I’m not too scarred by watching this zombie fest show.

Toxic Mushrooms In China Kill Hundreds Of People… Enter Zombies Stage Left

As I’ve spoken about before, zombies suck. They are unrelenting eating machines and then on top of that they turn you and your loved ones into shambling messes too. I saw this article on MSNBC and I immediately thought, “Those fuckers are covering up the outbreak.” Seriously, this is how that shit starts. I should know as I’ve read all the books and seen all of the movies. The book that this reminded me of is by Max Brooks ( Mel Brooks son) and is called World War Z. The reason for the similarity is that the outbreak in the book is believed to have started in rural areas of China. Creepy, huh? I know! The good thing is that I also read Max Brooks other book, The Zombie Survival Guide. That has prepared me for the worst and it is also an entertaining read. In fact I recommend both books as World War Z is a pretty powerful novel with some emotional highs, especially the dog parts. By the way, I was just kidding about my paranoia. (kinda sorta)
