My love for George Takei knows no bounds. The man is truly a remarkable human being who has overcome many personal obstacles to become a successful entertainer and true American icon. I salute you George. Now Mr. Takei has made a video for the The Trevor Project. In recent months the problem of gay bullying has become quite the hot button topic in the news and in our culture.

The Trevor Project and “It Gets Better” have been at the forefront in helping gay teens who may not have the family, friends, and loved ones to cope with what they are feeling or experiencing. Often they are not accepted in their communities and wrestle with the feeling of being outcasts. Often because of this these unfortunate people turn to suicide because their pain is too much. The fact that many in our society repeatedly attempt to knock these people down whether it’s through hate speech or legislation that makes them second class citizens it’s about time we say that’s fucking enough.

In fact recently a school board member from Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, has resigned after his shit filled screed on Facebook came to light. Clint McCance seems like your typical hate-filled self loathing bigot but his comments on Facebook are particularly exceptional as he is what passes for a “leader” in that community and school district. Here’s just a sampling of his most epic of piss stained comments in regards to the Facebook campaign of wearing purple on Oct. 20 in support of gay people who may feel bullied, and I quote,

“Seriously they want me to wear purple because five queers killed themselves,” McCance wrote. “The only way im wearin it for them is if they all commit suicide. I cant believe the people of this world have gotten this stupid. We are honoring the fact that they sinned and killed thereselves because of their sin.”

First of all, we can point out this shit stains wonderful backwoods grammar. I love the word “thereselves”, especially when it comes from a school board member. Upon posting this he obviously got some flack from the Facebook community but his follow-up responses are where his true gems lay,

“No because being a fag doesnt give you the right to ruin the rest of our lives. If you get easily offended by being called a fag then dont tell anyone you are a fag. Keep that shit to yourself. I dont care how people decide to live their lives. They dont bother me if they keep it to thereselves. It pisses me off though that we make a special purple fag day for them. I like that fags cant procreate. I also enjoy the fact that they often give each other aids and die. If you arent against it, you might as well be for it.”

So here we have someone who actually wishes for their death. Sieg Heil you fuckwad. The last quote is the best as it truly exemplifies why the Trevor Project and “It Gets Better” are so important,

“I would disown my kids if they were gay. They will not be welcome at my home or in my vicinity. I will absolutely run them off. Of course my kids will know better. My kids will have solid christian beliefs. See it infects everyone.”

This “scum” (and I use that word as the most appropriate to the following video) resigned a few days after this came out on Anderson Cooper’s CNN show after apologizing to anyone he may have offended and his community at large. That’s all fine and dandy except for he already said it. Now, this whole screed I’ve spewed out (I like to avoid politics but this is beyond the pale and it involves the pop culture icon George Takei for fucks sake) is because Mr. Takei’s response video is directed at Mr. McCance. Check it out,

I love you George! Seriously, you are awesome. You love this country and care about the people in it despite the fact that your rights have constantly been infringed upon (Mr. Takei was also interned as a Japanese-American during World War II). So here’s my chance to say “Fuck You Clint McCance”. George Takeis says it a lot better and his voice is so awesome but I like that I can say it on my own terms. I’m also ashamed to say that I have used hateful speech towards gay people before and I’m sorry for that. Not quite as bad as Clint McCance, but still wrong none-the-less. So if you can or care, do what you can to help people from these ogreish bullies. And as a final little fuck you to Clint McCance,
